Build student and worker power in Arizona with YLOC
Join the strategy call
Tuesday, November 12 | 7PM PT
Arizona students and workers are making possible a just transition to a green economy built by workers with good union jobs, and campuses where student workers are paid living wages and can stand up for what’s right without fear of repression.
YLOC is offering training and mentorship for young students and workers committed to building the Arizona we deserve! This call is for you if you are:
A student who wants to make a material change on your campus but you don’t know where to start
An organizer with an ongoing campaign that needs a kickstart
A young worker who wants to have a say in your working conditions
Please email uaw.yloc@gmail.com if you have any questions.
What does it mean to build power in AZ with YLOC?
Get trained
Your first step is attending the post-election strategy session and training on Tuesday, November 12. On this call we’ll go over labor organizing basics and discuss what the results of the election mean for our movement’s strategy. Then, we’ll zoom into your local context and identify winnable demands that you can organize for on your campus and in your community - these demands could be anything from divestment to higher wages to free and accessible contraception for all students.
Connect with a mentor
After attending the training, you can get connected with a YLOC Corps Leader - an experienced student organizer who can provide 1:1 support and mentorship as you build power on campus or in your workplace.
Build statewide strategy
We need to build power across Arizona, and that means working together from ASU to U of AZ to NAU and beyond. On the 11/12 strategy call you’ll get to meet students and workers from across Arizona, share strategy and tactics, and learn from each other.
